IWM Redirects to Bundesarchiv

Dear Byron,

Thank you for your email.

We do hold a small amount of Luftwaffe camera-gun film and you can search our holdings here: www.iwmcollections.org.uk

However, I would recommend contacting (in the first instance) the Bundesarchiv as it is unlikely we will hold the sequence in question:

UK Museum

There have been rumors of Luftwaffe gun camera footage of the April 11th 1944 mission over Bernburg, Germany. Tony Woods did some substantial work in this area though I no longer have Tony's email.... The most recent data suggested that the UK National Archives in Kew, England contained gun camera footage. Email correspondence from UK NA indicates otherwise; there are other museums to contact in the UK to verify whether they have such footage or not.
The MACR and other documents show the 11 Aprilth mission was indeed attacked by Luftwaffe elements; the mission was also attacked by AAA. The loss of 7522 may have been a result of AAA (deemed likely), aerial attack or some other cause....
